Entries for the Social Prescribing Network Awards are now open and Viridian Nutrition is once again proud to support the event.

This awards programme, now in its third year, recognises and celebrates the wealth of innovative social prescribing projects and schemes running throughout the UK and internationally.

The impact of social prescribing projects on mental and physical wellbeing makes enormous difference to thousands of lives. In recent times especially, many well established community support groups have maintained and grown vital services, while also rising to the new challenges of social distancing.

Tom Welch, Viridian’s Marketing and Events Manager, said: “Viridian is thrilled to sponsor the Award for Best Local Social Prescribing Project again. Local communities can be a lifeline for many people on different levels from increasing an individual’s independence to having greater ability to self-manage and gain greater control of their health. We know voluntary groups and organisations such as local health stores in these communities can play a key role in supporting people’s journey to wellness.

“We heard about so many terrific projects from last year’s awards, that we really want to use the 2022 programme to shine a light on more unsung heroes in the community. I strongly encourage individuals, voluntary groups and organisations to enter the Best Local Social Prescribing Project award to get the recognition they deserve!”.

One of 9 awards now open for entry, the Award for the Best Local Social Prescribing Project is focussed on smaller scale, local projects e.g. across a town or locality, that are well underway and helping people in the community.

Entries for the 2022 awards are open until Monday 13th December 2021.
