Ethical vitamin company Viridian Nutrition is helping community artists to bring out the best colours in the first ever Unframed festival.

The family owned firm is supporting the launch of Daventry Unframed, an exhibition showcasing the talents of nine creatives whose skills range from illustration, painting, photography, print and digital art in the Northamptonshire market town of Daventry.

To mark the inaugural festival, the artists gathered at the weekend to create exciting Chalk It Up street art with a variety of messages ranging from selfcare to the natural world.

Tom Welch, events and marketing manager at Viridian Nutrition said: “With so much inspiration from the creative community, we believe this is a wonderful project for Viridian  to get involved, help bring some colour, joy and positivity to what has been challenging times for us all.

“This initiative is the perfect example of how art can be used to connect with everyone. Viridian is delighted to sponsor the first ever Daventry Unframed art festival and look forward to many more in future.”

The community artists will be showcasing their collections in gallery spaces within the shops and cafés in Daventry.  The individual displays will be connected by an art trail to encourage visitors to explore the market town and enjoy the historic centre.

The instore exhibition has been organised by the Daventry Retail Forum, an alliance of independent retailers and eateries.

Lorna White, co-ordinator of the Daventry Retail Forum, said: “We’re really looking forward to welcoming visitors to Daventry to join our new art trail.

“Daventry Unframed 2020 allows us to put the spotlight on our local talented artists who have volunteered their time and talents for free and by participating, they are helping art to thrive within our town.

“We would like to thank this year’s local artists, along with the shops/cafes who are hosting the art exhibitions, our event sponsors - local employer Viridian Nutrition, and the support from the owners of both Bowen Square and Bishops Court.”

The month-long festival will see each artist staging an exhibition of their work in a local shop for the minimum of a two-week period.  Details of each artist can be found in a catalogue available in every venue where the art is being displayed.
