Viridian champions Queen’s Green Canopy campaign in Jubilee celebrations

In honour of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, Viridian Nutrition is thrilled to support a nationwide drive to create a green legacy for future generations.

The Queen’s Green Canopy is a unique tree planting initiative to mark Her Majesty’s 70 years on the throne. In tribute to this celebratory milestone, people are being invited to ‘Plant a Tree for the Jubilee.’

Kind to the World

With the initiative resonating with Viridian’s own philosophy of being Kind to the World, the British family-run independently owned company has donated £7,000 to The Woodland Trust - £100 for every year the Queen has been leading the nation. The funds will enable the charity to continue its vital work of protecting current woodlands and the planting of new trees across the UK.

Pip Greensmith, The Woodland Trust head of partnerships, said: “Donating to support the UK’s woods and trees is a perfect way to celebrate the upcoming Jubilee, creating a lasting and growing legacy for future generations. All our woods are free for all to visit but we rely on the generosity of companies like Viridian to make this possible.”

Cheryl Thallon, Founder and Managing Director of Viridian, said: “The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee is a celebratory occasion which will unite the nation on so many levels. ‘Plant A Tree for the Jubilee’ is an inspiring way to engage with people to think about the future of our native trees and much-loved British woodlands. As such, we are delighted to donate £7,000 to The Woodland Trust to support their vital work which resonates with our own ethical values of caring for the environment. With a focus on planting sustainably, we believe the tree planting initiative is a fitting tribute to Her Majesty’s green legacy for current and future generations to enjoy, enabling wildlife to thrive in these important habitats whilst benefiting the climate.”

To mark the special occasion, the ethical company has designed its own unique Viridian Jubilee celebratory crest, featuring the iconic Viridian blue dot, much loved bunny and a crown constructed from illustrations of its natural ingredients.

The design which has an aptly themed green environmental twist (in line with the Queen’s Green Canopy initiative), can be seen represented in the windows of Health Stores across the nation. With the celebrations fast approaching, store staff will be feeling like kings and queens of wellness by wearing crowns featuring the crest, hanging bespoke celebratory bunting and posters to convey the excitement.

The importance of health stores in supporting charities

“From the beginning, Viridian has been an advocate for protecting the health of the planet and addressing climate change. Supporting charities that promote a wider understanding and appreciation of the natural environment along with selected children’s charities has been at the heart of the Viridian Charity Donation Programme,” explains Cheryl.

“Many of these charities are chosen by independent Health Stores, who have helped generated funds for the charity programme through their recommendations of Viridian, and also share the same passions for protecting this shared environment, and all who live in it. We want to express our gratitude to our independent Health Stores, because without them our Charity Donation Programme simply would not exist.”

Under the programme, every Viridian bottle supports a charity contribution. The £7,000 Woodland Trust donation is in addition to Viridian’s annual nominated charity programme. To find our more, visit viridian-nutrition.com/charity
